recruit vs. invite

I sat in a meeting today of a church’s “ministry leadership team” and we were discussing how to efficiently and effectively recruit volunteers.

i learned this…

allow your volunteers to truly enjoy their roles in growing God’s kingdom and they will invite others to join with them

don’t waste the time of volunteers by making them do something that God is not calling them to do. Don’t simply find bodies, personally invite people who desire to join with God in growing His kingdom.

inviting is harder than recruiting, but inviting is better

(also, personally inviting people seems a lot more similar to Jesus’ selection of disciples than some sort of public recruiting campaign)
