feeling regret, compunction, sympathy, pity, etc.: to be sorry to leave one’s friends; to be sorry for a remark; to be sorry for someone in trouble.
2. regrettable or deplorable; unfortunate; tragic: a sorry situation; to come to a sorry end.

I talked with some of my coworkers about their “religious background” and found out some pretty disturbing stuff. One woman used to teach in a children’s sunday school class because she “loves being with 4, 5, & 6 year olds.” Another man was made to feel like “no matter what he did, he was going to hell.”

Why is it that churches drive some people away from God.

All I could tell them was, “I’m sorry.”

and I told them that “no matter how other people make you feel, God loves you, wants the best for you, and desires a real relationship with you.”
