…then you’ll never be faithful.

If you wait for your religious organization to give you permission to do the things you know have to happen, then you’ll never be faithful.” If the kind of people you are called to reach won’t be welcomed into your church then invite them in to your home, he said. This doesn’t mean leaving the church, but for some people it might mean “getting out your resume.”

~Brian McLaren @ the Shift Conference~

I think Brain is really onto something here. What if your church isn’t the type of place where those you are called to will feel welcomed? Who cares! Then invite them to your house. We mustn’t limit the expression and practice of our faith by simply matching the customs of a local church.
